Predictors of Microvascular Reperfusion After Myocardial Infarction

چکیده
Abstract Purpose of Review In acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), successful restoration blood flow in the infarct-related coronary artery may not secure effective reperfusion. The mortality and morbidity associated with MI remain significant. Microvascular obstruction (MVO) represents failed microvascular MVO is under-recognized, independently adverse cardiac prognosis an unmet therapeutic need. Recent Findings Multiple factors including clinical presentation, patient characteristics, biochemical markers, imaging parameters are after MI. Summary Impaired reperfusion common following percutaneous intervention (PCI). New knowledge about disease mechanisms underpins precision medicine individualized risk assessment, investigation, stratified therapy. To date, there no evidence-based therapies to prevent or treat post-MI. Identifying novel therapy for next frontier.

Predictors of Post-traumatic Growth in Patients With Myocardial Infarction
Background: Some people experience positive psychological changes in various aspects after a stressful event. These positive changes, known as Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG), are often due to people’s need to adapt to the challenges ahead. Objective: This study aims to determine the predictors of PTG in patients with myocardial infarction. Methods: This is a descriptive-correlational study. Part...
متن کاملConcurrent microvascular and infarct remodeling after successful reperfusion of ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Connection between the course of microvascular and infarct remodeling processes over time after reperfused ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction has not been fully elucidated. The aim of this study is to investigate the association of temporal changes in hemodynamics of microcirculation in the infarcted territory and infarct size (IS) after primary percutaneous coronary interventi...
متن کاملNitric oxide inhalation improves microvascular flow and decreases infarction size after myocardial ischemia and reperfusion.
OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to test if nitric oxide (NO) could improve microvascular perfusion and decrease tissue injury in a porcine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (I/R). BACKGROUND Inhaled NO is a selective pulmonary vasodilator with biologic effects in remote vascular beds. METHODS In 37 pigs, the midportion of the left anterior descending coronary artery was ...
متن کاملMyocardial cell hypertrophy after myocardial infarction with reperfusion in dogs.
BACKGROUND The potential role of myocardial cell hypertrophy in the ischemic zone in the mechanism of late recovery of regional contractile function after myocardial infarction followed by reperfusion has not been examined. METHODS AND RESULTS Eight chronically instrumented, conscious dogs were subjected to 90-120 minutes of circumflex coronary artery occlusion followed by reperfusion. The th...
متن کاملLeft ventricular remodeling after acute myocardial infarction with microvascular obstruction
Accurate assessment of myocardial function and determinants of adverse functional outcome after acute myocardial infarction are essential in further therapeutic management of affected patients. Although echocardiography is most commonly used for this purpose, cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is emerging as an important diagnostic tool in the evaluation of ischemic heart disease. The adva...
